Experience of working internationally is not a must. This workshop assumes you want to partner more effectively in a complex international context, rather than a national one. It also assumes you are able to move beyond simple intercultural stereotyping of different nationalities.


Most international organisations have a matrix structure, which brings unique challenges. To be successful in this environment, a matrix mindset is essential and HR has a key role to play in supporting the development and growth of partnering in global matrix organisation.

On this workshop, you learn how to build strong bridges between global and local HR, how to influence people in different global locations and functions, how to work with different local needs. We also look at supporting senior business leaders to position partnership as a business priority and embed it deeply in the organisational culture.

In short, the workshop gets you thinking about how to align your relationships to implement your international plans faster, and ensure excellence into your global partnerships.

Understand the vital difference between business outcomes, HR outcomes and HR initiatives and your role in achieving all three elements.
Learn the ten biggest barriers to excellent partnering and how to avoidmaking the same mistakes.
Be clear on the optimal degree of partnering, i.e. when it makes sense to partner to partner (and when not) in complex
international organisations.
Learn how to set-up a positive partnership and avoid negative relationships.
Influence people across functions and borders, with and without line authority.
Build a benchmark Partnering Roadmap for a global business.
Set up and support a culture of successful global functions in a virtual environment.
